About

OUR STORY SO FAR..

Welcome to Four Lakes Retreat

The site was originally part of the Isle of Wight Lavender farm, the 4 large lakes are man made creations. We purchased the land in late July 2020, it then took a few years to get planning permission and start work but we are now ready to offer 3 hand built and lovingly created lodges.  The lodges and their private outdoor spaces are creatively decorated and built literally on the lake edge.

Previously we had a building company for the past 25 years building and refurbishing homes and decided to move our family from Essex in 2013 to the Island as we wanted to raise our sons in a relaxed environment. We all love to build, make and create things and are a fantastic team. As our sons get older we wanted to build a new business, so Four Lakes Retreat was born, in its initial phase currently we hope over the coming years to create even more unique, fun and relaxing spaces for guests.

So as parents of lively teenagers we feel we are able to recommend guests come and stay that have babes in arms and those with children that are confident and competent swimmers – those that have children in the in-between stage will not find our lodges location so close to water makes for a relaxing  holiday for parents.

Identifying and naming the lodges proved to be a tricky decision for us, we debated birds, places, boat wreaks around the island nothing floated our boat so we decided to keep it simple. As I consider the lodges my babies –  as Ive designed them, considered where each wall and window goes what materials we finish them in, debated every wall colour and kitchen, stared at handle choices for hours, changed and re-changed my mind on every curtain fabric and duvet cover, procrastinated over the beds and bed linen for months I decided that it would be appropriate to name them after me…

Slightly vain but as Inez Newman, I will be able to tell guests that you are IN One, IN Two and so on as you are affectively staying with me  – they are a

complete reflection of my personality – unique, quirky, full of fun, colourful and love the outdoors.

And we can not run out of numbers however big we grow the park!

Our plan is for a further 5 lodges for summer 2025 and a further 3 for Summer 2026 and

we also hope to build a wilderness spa!

We hope to welcome you to Four Lakes Retreat soon…
