Situated on the outskirts of Newport, our retreat offers a peaceful yet convenient location. You are surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, while still being close to everything. Because the site is in the heart of the island, every beauty spot is nearby. In fact, no destination is more than thirty minutes away, so exploring is simple and enjoyable.
Our holiday retreat is a true sanctuary for wildlife, and the lakes teem with life. You will often see mirror carp swimming peacefully and families of ducks paddling together. In addition, moorhens nest along the edges, creating a lively and natural scene. Numerous geese and seagulls visit daily, while Mallards, Gadwalls, Egrets, and Herons are often spotted. On special occasions, you may even catch sight of a Kestrel.
The air is alive with dragonflies, bees, butterflies, and many other insects. Rabbits dart across the grass, and sheep graze calmly in nearby fields. Sometimes, you can even hear the monkeys being fed at Monkey Haven across the road. Certain areas of the retreat are carefully mown, while others are left to grow wild. Consequently, beautiful wildflowers bloom through the grass, creating colourful and ever-changing scenery.
Four Lakes Retreat currently offers three hand-built, lovingly created retreat lodges. Each lodge is decorated with creativity and care, and every outdoor space feels private. Because they are built directly on the lake edge, the views are truly special. For those searching for Isle of Wight accommodation, our lodges provide both comfort and closeness to nature.

Fishing at Four Lakes Retreat
We are what our name says. We have four man-made lakes, created over a decade ago and stocked before we bought the land. Although we are not Anglers, we understand there are some good size fish to be caught in the Lakes. Carp up to 20lb have been caught previously! So, if you’re staying with us and wish to bring a rod with you on holiday your more than welcome to do so. We just need to keep a record of your fishing rod license number for the authorities and ask that you stick to our fishing guidelines that have been put together.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes , each lodge has its own designated parking bay.
Currently we do not allow pets on-site, we may consider this in the future in the larger lodges that are not so close to the lake edge.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the lodges, we kindly ask you do so outside and we have provided an ashtray for the putting out and collection of cigarette stubs which we kindly ask you to dispose of once safe to do so.
Please contact us to discuss, we do allow outside guests to visit during the daytime, but no overnight guests and please be respectful of your lodge neighbours.
We do have Wi-Fi but please remember that sometimes things can be tricky on the Island!

We are centrally positioned on the Island just 4 minutes drive from
Newport town centre.
Red Funnel, East Cowes ferry terminal – 11 minutes drive away.
Wightlink Ferries, Fishbourne terminal – 9 minutes drive away.
Wightlink Ferries, Yarmouth terminal – 26 minutes drive away.
Red Jet, Cowes terminal – 25 minutes drive away.
Fast Cat, Ryde pier terminal – 20 minutes drive away.
Ryde Hoverport – 16 minutes drive away.
Island Buses
The number 9 bus comes past the retreat with a stop in both directions into Newport and out to Ryde with ½ a mile of us.
